Before you reserve: summer getaway planning from Plymouth Meeting

These answers cover the questions that come up most in summer getaway planning from Plymouth Meeting. If yours is missing, call on a weekday morning. The form takes questions at any hour.

Temperatures first, money second

Temperatures and seasons first, then money, then holds, changes and the things the office leaves to others.

What does the number of degrees on each stay mean?

It is how much lower the average July afternoon high is at that lodging than at our office in Plymouth Meeting, over the 25 summers from 2001 to 2025. The cool summer getaways from Philadelphia page explains the data.

Will my week really be that much cooler?

Usually close to it, sometimes not. A heat wave reaches the mountains too. The figure describes how the summer tends to feel, not a forecast for your dates.

Why are some stays tied?

Three stays share the same July afternoon figure and two others share another. In each tie, the one whose nights cool more is listed later.

Which months do you plan?

Mostly May to October, depending on the place. Each stay page names its months and says honestly when we prefer not to quote it. Seasonal rates lodgings send us appear among the mountain inn and lodge offers.

What do I pay the office?

Nothing. The lodging pays the office a commission after your stay, and the commission is not added to your bill.

Why does every price say from?

Because it is built from one weeknight rate for one month. Weekends, summer peaks and larger rooms cost more, and your quote shows the real rates for your dates.

Are taxes in the figure?

No. Each stay page names the state and county taxes the lodging adds, so you can see them before you ask.

Where and when do I pay?

To the lodging, by its own methods. Some take a deposit when the room is held, others at check-in. This website takes no payment.

How quickly will I hear back?

A request that reaches us by 1 pm on a weekday is answered in writing by 5 pm that day. Later requests are answered by 5 pm on the next weekday.

Can I call instead?

Yes. To call a travel agent in Plymouth Meeting, ring +1 (610) 832-6074 on a weekday morning between 8 am and 1 pm Eastern Time.

Is anything held when I ask for a quote?

No. A quote holds nothing. Only after your written yes do we ask the lodging to hold the room.

Can I hold a room for someone else?

Yes. Give us the name the room should be under, and make sure that person can show identification at the front desk.

How do I change my dates?

Write to us with the new dates. We ask the lodging and send the new figures; your original room stays held until you approve the change.

What if I need to cancel?

The lodging's terms apply, and your quote prints them. The mountain stay cancellation policy explains how we pass a cancellation on.

Do you arrange travel protection?

No. If you want cover for a canceled trip, compare plans from an insurance provider yourself before you pay a deposit.

Do you help with documents for other countries?

Every stay we quote is in Pennsylvania or New York, and identification for check-in is the traveler's own to carry.

Can you plan the drive?

We give the distance and the usual driving time on each stay page. Directions, fuel and tolls are yours to arrange.

Can I bring a dog?

Some lodgings accept pets for a fee and some do not. Tell us in the form and we will only quote rooms that allow it.

I need a room without stairs. Can you help?

Yes. Tick the box in the form, and we ask the lodging about step free access before we quote.

Why are the lodgings not named on the site?

The site describes each place by what it is. The lodging's name appears in your written quote, together with its address and terms.

Can I ask about a town that is not listed?

Yes. Choose Suggest one for me, tell us how much cooler you would like it, and we will look for a lodging with its own front desk.

Do you quote private homes?

We work only with lodgings that have their own front desk: inns, lodges, hotels and motels.

Do you send newsletters?

No. We write to you only about your own request.
